

The National Police Checking Service (NPCS) is currently experiencing an unprecedented use of the system, and due to a number of factors outside of their control there may be significant delays in processing of checks. In most cases, this will be a much shorter period (for example, if there is no criminal history to assess). If you make an offline application instead, due to the unexpectedly large volume of applications currently being received, offline application processing is temporarily delayed up to 8 weeks. Application delaysĪpplying online through Service Victoria is the fastest way to get your NDIS Check.Īfter your application has been verified it can take up to 3 weeks for us to assess your application. The transitional arrangements that apply to you will depend on which safety screening checks you had through your organisation before 1 February 2021: Formal communication will be issued by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission shortly. NDIS workers who were screened by their employer under Victoria's Safety Screening Policy prior to 1 February 2021, but who do not have a Working with Children Check (WWCC), will have a further six months to apply for an NDIS Check.
